ATLANTA — CBS analyst Gary Danielson said Wednesday he has zero regrets about mentioning that Georgia coach Kirby Smart sent tapes of what Smart considered missed holding calls on Auburn’s secondary to the SEC.
Danielson said during last Saturday’s broadcast of the Iron Bowl that Smart sent tapes from the Auburn-Georgia game to the conference office. He prefaced his comments by saying he wasn’t sure if Smart’s comments to him were “on” or “off” the record. But Danielson told Atlanta-based 680 The Fan’s “Front Row” mid-day show that Smart shouldn’t be upset with him.
“Frankly, if I was Kirby, I’d be thrilled that I released that note,” Danielson said.
