Former Georgia Bulldogs and Miami Hurricanes football coach Mark Richt shared his Parkinson’s diagnosis in July. Now, he has opened up a little more on his unfortunate diagnosis.
Richt notes that his lifestyle and stress from his college football coaching career were big risk factors for Parkinson’s disease. Richt, like many college football coaches, was under pressure to perform, did not get enough sleep or exercise, and did not eat well throughout much of his coaching career.
Additionally, men are more likely than women to develop the disease. Fortunately for Richt, a Parkinson’s diagnosis is not a death sentence and he’s got the right mindset.
