Supporters of Georgia high school football and college football fans throughout the Southeastern Conference have had former Florida Gator linebacker Neiron Ball in their thoughts since he was put in a medically induced coma after a brain aneurysm ruptured September 16.
Ball, 26, was diagnosed with a rare congenital condition called Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) while at Florida. He underwent emergency surgery prior to his sophomore year after doctors discovered a brain bleed. The surgery was a success and physicians assured Ball and his family he eventually would be able to resume a normal life. A year later, he was cleared to resume playing football.
