Finally: Kirby Smart excited about Georgia’s new indoor practice facility

ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia officially opened its new indoor practice facility Tuesday, which means no more bus trips to the Atlanta Falcons’ practice facility in Flowery Branch when the Bulldogs cannot practice outside.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart made do without a IPF as a player and in his first season as a coach. His memories of his time as a player led to him inviting former Bulldogs stars Champ Bailey, Marcus Stroud and Richard Seymour for a tour of the facility.

“It was amazing to see their faces,” Smart said, “because so many of them had practiced on this ground when it was grass and hot.
