Former Georgia and NFL defensive lineman Marcus Stroud had a big impact on the history of the Florida-Georgia game. Stroud was elected into the Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame in 2016, and he helped make a bitter rivalry even more so during his recruitment in the mid-1990s.
Throughout the 1995 season, Stroud was committed to Florida, but on National Signing Day in 1996, he switched to his home-state Georgia Bulldogs. He appeared on a post-NSD Sports Illustrated cover, ripping off a Florida shirt to reveal a Georgia shirt underneath.
