Second-year coach Kirby Smart has Georgia (7-0) off to one of the best starts in school history, and a former Bulldogs quarterback says the coach’s handling of his freshman quarterback is a major reason for the hot start.
Former Georgia quarterback D.J. Shockley, who now can be seen on both the SEC and ACC networks, joined 1010XL radio in Jacksonville on Tuesday, and said Smart’s handling of quarterback Jake Fromm has been impressive. He also said Fromm should remain the starter.
“I think any true fan knows that you can’t replace a guy that is out there playing really well when the offense is clicking because that would be detrimental to your team,” Shockley said.
