Diamond Dogs squander ninth-inning lead in loss to Western Kentucky

Georgia baseball’s pitching fell apart Sunday evening at Foley Field as the Diamond Dogs lost to Western Kentucky, 8-7.

Georgia (4-3) sent six pitchers to the mound. Altogether, they faced 50 batters, allowed 11 hits and gave up 11 walks. Offensively, Georgia struck out 15 times and stranded eight baserunners.

“I don’t think you can play any worse and still have a chance to win,” said Diamond Dogs coach Scott Stricklin.
