Georgia baseball entered last Thursday riding a four-game winning streak that had the Diamond Dogs looking like a major threat going into the first weekend of Southeastern Conference play.

What a difference a week makes.
Georgia lost its last three games, two by seven and eight runs to Kentucky. Mercer came to Athens on Tuesday and beat the Diamond Dogs 3-1, but it didn’t feel that close because of Georgia’s poor offensive effort.
