The Diamond Dogs had just lost to the Charlotte 49ers, 10-5. They held a 4-2 lead until the seventh inning when the 49ers scored eight runs. Stricklin called it “a bad baseball game to watch.” He used his typical post-game meeting to scold his players for their collective performance.
