After a clutch win over LSU to open the SEC Tournament, Scott Stricklin’s Diamond ‘Dawgs found themselves unceremoniously bounced out of Hoover today, falling in the loser’s bracket to Ole Miss, 4-0.
For the second day in a row the Red and Black just couldn’t get the bats going. Wednesday it was an 11-2 shellacking at the hands of #1 ranked Arkansas. Today it was a shutout that wasted a solid outing from lefty starter Liam Sullivan. Sullivan held the Rebs scoreless in the first, gave up a solo homer in the second and another run in the third, pitching out of a couple of jams to leave righty Jon Cannon with a decent setup in the fourth.
