Georgia maintained control of its contest against Tech Tuesday evening, ultimately leaving Atlanta with a 3-1 win as the team tries to stay above .500.
An outstanding overall pitching performance from junior Andrew Giest, who pitched all the way into the ninth inning, was key for the team’s successful performance. Giest held the Yellow Jackets scoreless through the first eight innings of play, only giving up a home run in the top of the ninth for Tech’s only score.
Georgia had hot bats throughout the game, compiling a total of ten hits over the course of the game.
