The Detroit Lions drafted former Georgia tight end Isaac Nauta with pick No. 224 in the seventh round of this year’s NFL Draft.
A three-year starter in college, the Georgia native will compete for playing time with T.J. Hockenson, Detroit’s first-round selection.
Friday, the Lions announced they had assigned numbers to all of their newly acquired players.
Nauta will wear No. 89 in Detroit after wearing No. 18 during his time at Georgia.
