Georgia rode a 10-0 run into halftime, then played a solid half of team basketball to secure their fifth straight win over the visiting Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 82-78.
Rayshaun Hammonds played another outstanding game including a torrid start, scoring 19 points on 8 of 11 shooting in the first half. Hammonds finished with 26 points and is the first Bulldogs in at least eight years to average 15 points and 10 rebounds through the Dawgs’ first four games.
He was joined in the second half by freshman Anthony Edwards, whose 14 second half points helped stretch a 35-27 halftime lead to as many as 16.
