Georgia, coming off an eleven day layoff, looked the part of a team knocking off the rust this afternoon as they fell to UMass 72-62.
The Minutemen came out of the gate strong, going up 8-0 before the Red and Black could get on the board. Matters did not improve from there, as a turnover-prone UGA squad decided to mix things up by throwing in some poor shooting and being outrebounded this time out. Mark Fox’s squad found itself down by 19 at the half before battling back to make the final tally semi-respectable.
Yante Maten led the Dawgs in scoring with 20 points, but the story of this one really was a Bulldog team that just never got in sync.
