West Virginia used a 16-0 second-half run to overcome a 16-point deficit and defeat the Georgia Lady Bulldog basketball team, 49-45, Tuesday on the first day of the West Palm Beach Invitational.
Diamond Battles led all scorers in the game with 17 points, while Malury Bates added 10 points and eight rebounds.
Georgia falls to 9-3 on the year, while the Mountaineers improve to 8-2. The Lady Bulldogs will play San Diego State at 2:30 p.m. ET Wednesday.
Battles scored seven first-quarter points and Bates added six to lead Georgia to a 19-11 lead at the end of one quarter.
