A season-high scoring effort by the University of Georgia women’s basketball team propelled the Lady Bulldogs past the Troy Trojans, 86-70, before 4,221 spectators for Elementary School Day on Wednesday afternoon at Stegeman Coliseum.
Troy (0-6) jumped out with an early 6-2 lead before Georgia (7-2) used a triple from De’Mauri Flournoy and a jumper in the paint by Destiny Thomas to knot the score at nine. Both teams traded points, tying the game five times, before six unanswered Lady Bulldog points gave Georgia a 19-15 lead after the first period.
Georgia continued to build its lead in the second quarter.
