Just last year Georgia football had its first Jim Thorpe Award winner, and it seems to be just the beginning of successful secondary players.
It seems every year Georgia is bringing in more and more highly touted 5-star defensive backs are headed to the Classic City.
Since 1999 Georgia has had 21 defensive backs taken in the draft. Only two of the 21 were in the first round, Champ Bailey and DeAndre Baker.
By comparison, in that same time, LSU has had 22 defensive backs taken in the draft, five of those were in the first round, and Florida has had 20 defensive backs taken in the draft, also with five in the first round.
