Bevo, the University of Texas’s 1700-pound steer mascot, made headlines prior to Tuesday night’s Sugar Bowl when he broke out his quarters and appeared to charge Georgia’s live bulldog mascot, Uga.
The pregame scare actually garnered more media attention than the game itself — which may be a good thing for Georgia considering how the team played.
The video has been seen just about everywhere – so much so that PETA issued a statement after the game requesting Georgia and Texas both retire the live-mascot ideas and proceed with humans only.
Sorry, PETA. But I don’t see your request being taken seriously by anybody who enjoys college football.
