Former Southern University wide receiver Devon Gales, who was paralyzed from the waist down during a 2015 game at Georgia, tweeted out a video Thursday of him walking with assistance.
Gales, a native of Baton Rouge, La., has been working at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta. He was injured in a collision with then-Georgia kicker Marshall Morgan, and since then, the Georgia program has tried to help the Gales family in numerous ways.
Georgia launched a fundraising drive to help the Gales family pay for a handicapped-accessible house in Baton Rouge. The program also helped his parents and younger siblings relocate after floods in southern Louisiana last August.
