possession of a fake ID and underage consumption of alcohol.
The Athens (Ga.) Banner-Herald reported that the prosecution decided to drop the charges ahead of Ledbetter’s arraignment on Tuesday afternoon.
Ledbetter was arrested in March for trying to gain entry into an Athens-area bar. The police report said he was was inebriated and that his real license was “protruding” from his wallet.
Athens-Clarke Solicitor General C.R. Chisholm told the Banner-Herald that the issue was that evidence against Ledbetter had been obtained illegally. That is because the license was taken before Ledbetter was arrested and police had not spoken with him at the time.
