Georgia's athletic budget saw an increase of around $4.5 million from 2017 to 2018. But one area that stands out has to do with a $1.4 million increase, which is an area that saw no money allocated to a year ago.
The UGA Athletic Association, which approved the finance committee's recommendation of a $127.5 million budget Thursday at its spring board of director's meeting, has decided to devote $1.4 million from its general endowment toward this year's budget.
The UGA Athletic Association will incorporate a 4 percent spending limit from the general endowment fund invested at the UGA Foundation, which is a new revenue line item.
