The state of Georgia and UGA communities lost one of their best over the weekend, as former star athlete Quentin Moses perished in a house fire that also claimed the lives of the daughter and widow of a childhood friend.
An Athens native and star at local Cedar Shoals High School, Moses went on to play a season or two off the bench in basketball as well as excel on the football field at Georgia between 2002 and 2006. He finished his career ranked 7th all-time at UGA in sacks, despite having to share time with noted pass rushers David Pollack, Will Thompson, and Charles Johnson at defensive end over his four seasons.
