Five-star safety and Georgia commit Richard LeCounte was taken off the field in an ambulance after he was apparently injured during a high school preseason scrimmage Thursday night.
LeCounte, who 247Sports Composite ranks as the nation’s top safety in the 2017 class, reportedly was moving his arms and legs on the field after the injury occurred but his neck was stabilized as he was assisted by medical personnel.
Scout’s Chad Simmons and WJCL-TV’s Stefanie Frerotte, both of whom were at the game, were the first to report the news on Twitter.
A little over an hour after the injury occurred, LeCounte tweeted that he was “ok.
