Sophomore Blake Cairnes replaced Heath Holder against Wright State on Saturday. Holder had allowed three runs and thrown 70 pitches, so it was a short day for him as Cairnes relieved him to begin the fifth inning.
Cairnes finished the game, tossing a career-high five innings and striking out a career-high four batters.
