Four-star defensive back William Poole (Atlanta, GA) is one of the Georgia Bulldogs' most coveted prospects, and the 6-foot, 170-pounder visited Athens last weekend.
"It was pretty cool," Poole said. "They are in fall camp, so that is what I went up there to see. I got to talk to Coach Jeremy Pruitt, Coach Mark Richt and Coach Sam Petitto. Throughout practice, Coach Petitto was treating me like a Bulldog, teaching me proper technique and the whole scheme. He was basically grooming me to be a Dawg. Usually, college visits are about having fun, but that trip to Georgia was strictly business. It was great knowing that they really believe in me to come in and do what I have to do, in that system. That definitely fits my style of play."
One of the biggest reasons Poole is high on Georgia is his father. "My dad loves Georgia - he was as excited as I was on the visit. He has been a Georgia fan since he was my age. He is all Georgia. All my family basically loves Georgia.
"Georgia is definitely one of my top schools. They are always going to be up there in the top group. They have great academics, great football, they win every season, they have a great staff, great environment around school and most importantly, it is right here at home."
Poole hasn't announced a leader yet, but did say that Georgia is right at the top.
"I feel the most comfortable at Georgia," Poole said. "Out of all the visits I have taken so far, Georgia is where I feel the most comfortable. That is one of the most important things to me - not having to worry about feeling homesick. For Georgia, that is a big boost because Athens is only 45 minutes from home, so will always have that family support at my games. That plays a big factor."
