The Georgia Bulldogs have been tracking 2016 wide receiver Tyler Simmons for quite some time now, including hosting him on campus in recent days. The program's recruiting pitch to Simmons appears to be paying dividends, and it's possible UGA could pick up Simmons' signature early next month.
Per 247Sports' Tyler Simmons, "the 4-Star WR from McEachern took a recent visit to UGA with his family and he told Dawgs247 “early September” is sometime he wanted to make a decision. Georgia is looking to add speed and adding another top level prospect from powerhouse McEachern would not be a bad thing for now and the future to keep momentum at that school. Alabama, Texas A&M and others are still in contact."
Simmons holds 20 offers, including Alabama, California, Kansas State and Texas A&M. However, 247Sports has Simmons currently listed as a near-lock to head to in-state Georgia with a 100& prediction rate in their Crystal Ball. He recently listed UGA as his leader, and it doesn't appear that's in danger of changing anytime soon.
The 5-foot-11, 194-pounder is currently ranked as the 87th-ranked wide receiver in the nation for the Class of 2016 by 247Sports' Composite Rankings system.
