Jacob Eason was the starting quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs as a true freshman last season, but after a knee injury in Georgia's season-opening win over Appalachian State, he was replaced by true freshman Jake Fromm. Fromm led the Bulldogs to the National Championship game and Justin Fields - the No. 2 overall prospect in the 2018 class - committed to the Bulldogs.
That left Eason's future playing status with UGA in question, and as such, he will likely be transferring to play football for the Washington Huskies, according to the Seattle Times.

The 2015 Gatorade National Player of the Year is a Lake Stevens, Washington native, and the Huskies were one of his finalists before committing to Georgia. Returning to his home state certainly makes a lot of sense, especially considering that current Washington quarterback Jake Browning only has one more year of eligibility remaining after this season. Eason would keep Huskies among the top teams in the country.
The 6-foot-5 sophomore would have to sit out the 2018 season due to NCAA transfer rules. After sitting out 2018, he will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Eason would have to compete for the starting role since Washington just signed two quarterback recruits Colson Yankoff and Jacob Sirmon. Both young quarterbacks are ranked among the top-100 players in the nation.
