Four-star outside linebacker Roquan Smith (Montezuma, GA) has committed to UCLA over Georgia, Michigan, and Texas A&M.
Smith explained his decision, saying he thinks the coaching staff can help develop him "into the player I want to be" and that even though UCLA is on the other side of the country, "it felt like home".
Smith is ranked as the second best outside linebacker and the 29th overall prospect in the country, and is expected to make an immediate impact with his outstanding athleticism. He's going to need to hit the weight room hard once he steps on campus because he's just over 200 pounds, but his speed and ability to make plays from sideline to sideline make him appeal for teams who will play against spread offenses.
It'll take some time for him to adjust to the physicality of the college game, but he gives UCLA the latest top recruit it what's been a great signing day for the Bruins.
