Georgetown suffered its worst ever Big East loss Wednesday night, getting blown out 88-56 by #1 Villanova in a game that, improbably, wasn’t as close as the final score suggests. The top-ranked Wildcats very much looked the part from the jump, rattling off two double-digit-point runs in the first half to build an 20-point lead that only swelled as the game wore on. Villanova ran what it wanted to and made shots, contested and not, from all over the court. For their part, the Hoyas couldn't come up with a defensive solution, failing to disrupt the Wildcats’ rhythm and unable to counter with an offense that was alternately inept and inert.
