WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women’s basketball team took time out of their schedule on Monday to volunteer at the Washington Literacy Center just down the street from campus. With the conclusion of summer classes, the Hoyas have time to give back and bond before leaving for 10 days abroad in Italy and France.
The team helped spruce up the literacy center by painting and working with the volunteers and students to get the classrooms in order. The Washington Literacy Center serves adults who have the most limited reading skills, fewest job resources and greatest employment needs in the District of Columbia by addressing the issue of illiteracy.
