WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's basketball team (1-1) fell to the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers (2-0), 68-60, at Williams Arena in Minneapolis, Minn., on Friday afternoon. Junior guard Dorothy Adomako (Midlothian, Va./Cosby) and senior guard Faith Woodard (Brandon, Fla./Freedom) both managed double-doubles, but the Hoyas’ late comeback fell short in the loss.
“On the road against a good team, I was proud of our effort. We’re learning and our goal is still in view,” said Georgetown Head Coach Natasha Adair. “This is a long road swing and we’ll take what we learned today, and keep trying to put a complete 40-minute game together.
