WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women’s basketball team defeated the University of Delaware Blue Hens (4-4), 61-50, at McDonough Arena on Thursday evening. The Hoyas rebounded from their previous outing to control the pace and put the game away in the second half to improve to 6-2 on the season.
“We talk about defense, and I thought our kids responded beautifully to that,” said Georgetown Head Coach Natasha Adair. “The ball wasn’t falling for us initially, but it didn’t deter us from our defensive goals. We had some key possessions where we stopped them, and Delaware is a very good team, it was our house, our rules and our kids responded in a big way.
