WASHINGTON - Georgetown football senior defensive back Jelani Williamson (Silver Spring, Md./Good Counsel) was named Patriot League Honorable Mention on Monday, recognizing his performance in Georgetown’s 16-10 season-opening victory at Campbell.
Williamson scored the game-winning touchdown for the Hoyas, pouncing on a fumble and returning it 32 yards for the score to give the Blue & Gray a 16-10 lead with 1:27 remaining in the fourth quarter. The senior also contributed five tackles, a sack and recovered another fumble. His sack in the first quarter was the first of his career and pushed Campbell out of the red zone forcing a long field goal attempt that was missed.
