For the fourth straight season, the Georgetown Hoyas did not qualify for the NCAA Tournament’s field of 68.
The Hoyas (19-13, 9-9 Big East) were tied for third in their conference after the regular season, but their fate likely was sealed once it lost its first game in last week’s Big East Tournament to Seton Hall.
Georgetown now will look to the National Invitation Tournament to see if it can continue its postseason in the second-tier tournament. The NIT field is announced Sunday at 8:30 p.m.
This season, in Patrick Ewing’s second year as coach, showed marked improvement.
