WASHINGTON - Georgetown University sophomore defensive lineman Khristian Tate (Warner Robins, Ga./Covenant Academy) has been named Patriot League Honorable Mention, recognizing his efforts in Georgetown’s Homecoming game against Lafayette this past Saturday.
Tate led a stout GU defense with a career-high 11 tackles, including 2.5 tackles-for-loss (TFL) and one sack. He recorded key tackles in the first quarter to halt Lafayette drives that forced two missed field goals and was part of a defensive front that allowed just 65 rushing yards on 36 attempts. Overall, the Hoya defense allowed just 166 yards of offense all day and only 32 yards in the second half, including -2 in the fourth quarter.
