WASHINGTON - Senior guard D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central/Oak Hill) scored 27 points and Georgetown opened up a 25-point lead in the second half before hanging on to beat UNC Wilmington, 87-82, at Verizon Center on Saturday afternoon. It was the fifth-straight win, and the sixth in the last seven games, for the Hoyas who improve to 6-3 overall, while UNCW falls to 5-1. Freshman forward Marcus Derrickson (Bowie, Md./Brewster Academy [N.H.]) added 15 points and four rebounds for the Hoyas, while sophomore forward Isaac Copeland (Raleigh, N.C./Brewster Academy [N.H.]) finished with 10 points and six rebounds.
