Finally, some news! According to a report by Jon Rothstein, Robert Kirby will join Patrick Ewing’s staff, returning to Georgetown, where he previously was an assistant coach under John Thompson III from 2010 through 2012.
Kirby is a strong recruiter with ties to the South. He arrived at Georgetown for his first stint after several years at Rick Stansbury’s staff at Mississippi State. Since leaving the Hilltop in 2012, Kirby worked for Josh Pastner at Memphis and served two separate stops at LSU, the latter as an associate head coach.
During his previous time on the Hilltop, Kirby landed two top-100 recruits in his first year: Tyler Adams and Our Lord and Savior Otto Porter.
