College basketball’s seedier side continues to be exposed by a federal criminal investigation and prosecutions, and related news coverage. Overnight, a Yahoo sports (yes, that’s still a thing) article by Pat Forde and Syracuse Alumnus Pete Thamel named names, describing documents uncovered in the criminal investigation that reportedly show “an underground recruiting operation that could create NCAA rules issues – both current and retroactive – for at least 20 Division I basketball programs and more than 25 players.” These documents show payments big and small to players and their families, reportedly by NBA agent Andy Miller or those working on his behalf.
