It was only a matter of making it official, but NCAA President Mark Emmert confirmed yesterday that the NCAA has canceled all Fall sports championships. This does not apply to FBS or the College Football Playoff, but all other types of competition are affected. Two days ago the BIG EAST shared that our internal conference championships would be shelved, so this nationwide news was not shocking.
If more than half of schools in a given sport do compete during the season, the NCAA says they will look at rescheduling these championships to winter or spring so that student athletes will have the chance to participate.
