WASHINGTON - Georgetown University football senior punter Harry McCollum (Arlington Heights, Ill./Saint Viator) was named the Corvias Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week and junior defensive back David Akere (Carrollton, Texas/Hebron) earned Honorable Mention on Monday. Both awards recognize their efforts during Georgetown’s 17-14 victory over Columbia University on Saturday afternoon at Cooper Field.
With the win, the Hoyas improved to 3-0 overall and claimed the Lou Little Trophy, named after the College Football Hall of Fame Head Coach who coached at both schools, for the second-straight season.
McCollum helped Georgetown hang on for the win by averaging 41.
