Maryland women’s lacrosse seeks to defend NCAA title as top seed

The University of Maryland lacrosse teams are 2-for-2 in earning No. 1 overall seeds this postseason.

The Terrapins (18-1) earned the top seed in the 2018 NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship, revealed during Sunday’s selection show. After a first-round bye, Maryland will host either Denver or High Point in the second round.

The Terrapins were one of 10 teams from Maryland, Virginia or the District selected for the field of 26.

James Madison earned the No. 3 overall seed and will host the University of Virginia if the Cavaliers defeat Stanford in the first round.
