Shooting guard Ike Cornish, a four-star recruit in the Class of 2021, announced Wednesday he will commit to Maryland, giving the Terrapins their second commitment of the class.
The rising senior at Legacy Charter School in South Carolina is a native of Baltimore. He chose Maryland over Georgetown, Virginia Tech, Rutgers, St. John’s and Xavier.
The 6-foot-6 Cornish is the 72nd-ranked overall player in the class by 247 Sports’ composite rankings and No. 14 at his position.
“Playing basketball at the highest level has always been a lifelong dream,” Cornish said in his announcement video. “I would like to thank God, my family, my supporters and all the coaches and trainers who helped me get to this point.
