WASHINGTON - After holding the Patriot League’s top offense well below its season average of total yardage and points per game, the Georgetown University football team saw two members of its defensive squad earn Patriot League Honorable Mention selections. Freshman defensive lineman Khristian Tate (Warner Robins, Ga./Covenant Academy) and sophomore defensive back Ramon Lyons (Orlando, Fla./Ocoee/West Orange) were both recognized for their efforts in Saturday’s tough 17-14 loss at Fordham University.
Tate finished with seven tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss, 0.5 sacks and one blocked punt. He broke through the line to block his second punt of the season in the second quarter, leading to Georgetown’s game-tying touchdown a few plays later.
