WASHINGTON - Georgetown University football sophomore linebacker J’V’on Butler (Melbourne, Fla./Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy) has been named a Patriot League Honorable Mention selection, when the league announced the weekly awards on Monday. The honor recognizes Butler’s efforts this past Saturday against Lehigh.
Butler led the Hoya defense and tied a career high with 11 tackles against the Mountain Hawks, the third time this season he has achieved that number. Five of his tackles were of the solo variety and he also had 1.0 tackle for a loss. Butler added his first-career interception in the first quarter, picking off a pass in the red zone to halt a Lehigh scoring drive.
