Georgetown coach John Thompson III limped into the first floor room of the school’s athletic center for his media session Friday afternoon. His knee remains stiff following an accident Monday involving the team’s chartered bus. Despite the bruised knee and awkward gait, Thompson won’t be a gametime decision for Saturday’s home game against Marquette.
“‘I’m playing,” Thompson joked. “I might be on the sideline in one of those carts.”
The outlook for Tre Campbell, also injured in the bus accident on I-95 outside of Baltimore, is also clear, but opposite. The junior guard (knee) play against the Golden Eagles.
