WASHINGTON - Behind a career-high 24 points from junior Kaleb Johnson (South Hill, Va./The Carlisle School) and double-doubles from classmates Jessie Govan (Queens Village, N.Y./Wings Academy) and Marcus Derrickson (Bowie, Md./Brewster Academy [N.H.]), the Georgetown University men’s basketball team handily defeated the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, 83-75, at Capital One Arena on Saturday afternoon. For the second-consecutive game, the Hoyas had five players in double figures.
Johnson stuffed the stat sheet with a team-best 24 points behind 9-of-13 shooting including 4-for-5 from beyond the arc. The junior chipped in six boards, four assists and a block in 34 minutes.
