Jelani Williamson Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University football senior defensive back Jelani Williamson (Silver Spring, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) was named to the 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Football Team on Thursday.

To qualify for the all-district teams, student-athletes must have at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA and be a significant contributor on their team. The honor, which is the first of Williamson’s career, now puts him on the ballot for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team. First-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later in December.

Williamson, an economics and anthropology double major in the College, has played and started in all 10 games this season.
