WASHINGTON - Despite a late surge from the Howard University Bison, Georgetown men’s basketball’s team held on for the 81-67 win at Capital One Arena on Thursday night. With the win, the Hoyas improve to 7-0 on the year and Howard slips to 1-9. Junior center Jessie Govan (Queens Village, N.Y./Wings Academy) recorded his fifth double-double of the season in the effort.
“The BIG EAST is such a strong conference - teams will make runs on us,” Govan said of the tightness of the game. “We need to stay composed. Howard did a great job tonight and made a big run on us and never gave up.
