INDIANAPOLIS - Butler University pulled away in the second and third quarters and, despite a big fourth quarter comeback, defeated the Georgetown women’s basketball team, 82-76, on Thursday evening in a BIG EAST Conference matchup at Butler’s Hinkle Fieldhouse.
The Hoyas fell to 7-5 overall and 0-2 in the BIG EAST, while the Bulldogs improved to 6-7 and 1-1 in conference play.
Dominique Vitalis (Bloomfield, N.J./Gill St. Bernard’s) recorded Georgetown’s first double-double effort of the season, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Dionna White (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill) scored a team-high 17 points, 10 of which came in the fourth quarter, and also grabbed nine boards as well as four thefts.
