Hoyas Comeback Bid Falls Short in 38-31 Senior Day Loss to No. 16 Fordham

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University football team (4-6, 2-3 Patriot League) fell short in its comeback bid against No. 16 Fordham (9-2, 5-1 Patriot League), falling to the Rams, 38-31, on Senior Day at Cooper Field.

The Hoyas trailed, 28-7, midway through the second quarter, before senior quarterback Kyle Nolan (Branford, Conn./Branford/Choate Rosemary Hall) led two scoring drives before halftime. Nolan rushed for a 12-yard touchdown and completed a 17-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Harrison Glor (Boston, Mass./Belmont Hill/Deerfield) to bring GU within a touchdown at halftime. The Hoyas kept momentum in the second half, tying the game at 31 with 5:17 left in the fourth quarter, but a late Fordham touchdown, followed by an interception in the end zone with 27 seconds remaining sealed the Hoyas’ fate.
